Emily and George contacted us from Sydney to provide our Palm Cove wedding photographer for their Angsana Resort at Palm Cove Wedding. Natalie and I met George and Emily for dinner in Sydney a few weeks before the wedding at Arun Thai restaurant, which is one of my favourite restaurants in Australia.

Nat and I were attending a workshop in Sydney. Because the ceremony was schedule for 4pm, I suggested to Emily and George for us to have a first look and a photography shoot before the ceremony. The reason I suggested this is because outside of a quality professional photographer the most important ingredient for great wedding photos is time.

We usually need around 2 to 3 hours of purely photo shoot time on the day to create depth and quality of photographs.

By taking some of the photographs before the ceremony, there is less for us the photographers and the couple to worry about by the time the party begins….. most of the hard work is done and the couple can enjoy the wedding celebrations and guests.

The only consideration with this is that when doing a pre ceremony photo shoot, this may often be midday and in most cases the lighting is not ideal so we decided to therefore schedule just over an hour before the ceremony and just over and hour after the ceremony of photo shooting.

Emily and George were going to be photographed by Nat and I before the ceremony, I suggested for them to have “the first look”, where we find a nice private spot where they can first see each other before the ceremony. This was an emotional moment for Emily and George.  What stood out to us about this wedding was just the vibe of the wedding of relaxation and excitement at the same time. It was a rare occasion where we were able to capture a first look with Emily and George and it was heartfelt.

The Alamanda Great Barrier Reef Chapel (formerly the Angsana Great Barrier Reef Chapel) in Palm Cove which has absolute beach frontage, and there Hilton Blue Horizon Chapel which occupies an exclusive waterfront location in the heart of Cairns. Beach weddings in Cairns, Palm Cove and Port Douglas have the Special Feel of Far North Queensland. Beach weddings are popular in Far North Queensland due to the beautiful beaches, fine sand and palm tree-lined shores on offer.

There’s always a sense of calm at the beach and with the sounds of the ocean and our back drop of mountains, it really is the perfect romantic location. Its stunning location encompasses a 180-degree panoramic view along Palm Cove beach, the glistening Coral Sea and the surrounding beaches. The all-glass concertina doors to the front and sides allow for an “open air” feel when fully retracted.

Alternately, the chapel is fully air-conditioned for comfort when the doors are closed. Check out more info about the and feel free to chat with us about your destination wedding photography and cinematography needs if you are planning a Palm Cove wedding . regards, Normy
